Tripura on Sunday got its fifth drinking water vending machines or water ATM. The latest Water ATM and sanitation facility was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister, Jishnu Debbarma at the Kebdriya Sanshodhanagar in Bishalgarh.
The first four water ATMs installed by ONGC are at four major government hospitals of Agartala.
The minister was accompanied by the Inspector General of Prisons Joydeep Nayak, Asset Manafer of ONGC Tripura Mr. G.K Singha Roy and SDM (Bishalgarh) and Superintendent of Kendriya Sansodhanagar of Bishalgarh Mr. Sudhakar Shinde during the inauguration.
The efforts for installing the water ATMs at the Central Jail by ONGC and its Asset Manager were appreciated by the Deputy Chief Minister. At the inaugural programme, Jishnu Debbarma said, Tripura government is giving its best efforts to realize the dreams of swachhata of PM Narendra Modi and “these initiatives are adding to that.”
Singha Roy, Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura, briefly addressed the gathering opining that cleanliness should be an integral part of the society and that ONGC is proud to be a part of PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat initiative.
He added that ONGC Foundation Trust has donate Rs 25 crore to make Tripura Open Defection free (ODC). As a part payment, ONGC had handed over a draft of amounting Rs 20 crore to Chief Minister Biplab Deb on the occasion of Nataji Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary.
He further informed that ONGC has already spent an amount of Rs 8 crore in various CSR projects in the areas of skill development, encouraging organic farming, health, education, facilitating disables and orphans, etc.
