Tripura is all set to get a science village; Rs. 68 cr to be spent by the govt.

    Tripura is all set to get a Science Village of its own. It will aim to spread knowledge about science to different sections of the society. 12.84 acre land is also planned to to be allocated by the state govt. for the construction of this science village.

    Northeast Indian MPs voice against JNU’s violation of reservation policy; invite HRD minister’s attention!

      On the issue of the violation of reservation policy by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)  administration,  Members of Parliament of Lok Sabha have submitted their protest in the form of a letter to the HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar  yesterday to take necessary action to restore the reservation policy. Two MPs from Tripura- Jharna Das Baidya (Rajya Sabha)  and Jitendra Choudhury (Lok Sabha) have also expressed their disagreement with this policy of the JNU. Apart from them, Lok Sabha MP from Shillong, Meghalaya Vincent H Pala, Lok Sabha MP from Karbi Anglong, Assam Biren Singh Engti, Lok Sabha MP from Mizoram CL Ruala, Lok Sabha MP from Sikkim Prem Das Rai and Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Ering among others have also signed the letter inviting the attention of the Minister of HRD Prakash Javadekar to the matter of removal of reservation policy of SC, ST, OBC and People with disability (PWD) from various clauses.

            BJP general secretary for Northeast, Ajay Jamwal today warned his party workers against hooliganism and syndicate-raj and said they should stay away from incidents which characterized the previous Left Front government.

            Addressing an audience at Udaipur in Gomati district, 50 Km from here, Jamwal said people had put their trust on BJP through landslide victory in Feb 18 assembly polls. It was the party’s turn now to show a different approach to politics, the leader said.

            Tripura may soon develop into an IT hub with three BPO hubs

              Union minister for electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad assured Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb during his visit to New Delhi that the central government would provide “all possible assistance” to develop the NE state in terms of Information Technology.

              “The union IT minster today declared to start three BPO Hubs in Tripura so as to promote BPO services”, an official statement from the Chief Minister’s secretariat said this evening. It added that IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad urged Chief Minister Deb to start Common Service Centres (CSC) in each gram panchayat hich would be used to promote internet connectivity at the grass root level. Wi-Fi hubs would be set up at various locations, the central minister said.
