BJP general secretary for Northeast, Ajay Jamwal today warned his party workers against hooliganism and syndicate-raj and said they should stay away from incidents which characterized the previous Left Front government.
Addressing an audience at Udaipur in Gomati district, 50 Km from here, Jamwal said people had put their trust on BJP through landslide victory in Feb 18 assembly polls. It was the party’s turn now to show a different approach to politics, the leader said.
BJP, alongwith Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) emerged victorious in 44 out of 60 assembly constituencies which went to polls this year.
Jamwal today urged BJP supporters to maintain “close contact” with people and said victory with “greater margin” in 2019 Lok Sabha polls was a must.
He also advised party workers to stay away from influencing government work.
“Party is something and government is something else. We should not show partisan attitude in implementation of government schemes. The party should not interfere in public works”, he said.
Earlier today, Ajay Jamwal offered puja at Tripurasundari Temple in Matabari constituency, which is one of the 51 Hindu Shaktipeethas in the country.
