This Rakshabandhan season, Tripura seems to be reverberating in the spirit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Baahubali star Prabhas.
Among various other designs that includes peacock feathers, dices and even the Swastika, rakhis with PM Modi’s potrayed on them sell at Rs. 10 while the ‘Baahubali-rakhi’ surpassed the PM Modi rakhi with Rs. 15 per piece.

But not all are happy with this ongoing trend. A trder is of the view that bringing politics into the social customs and traditions is not a conducive trend.
It may be mentioned that rakhis with faces of politicians is not a new phenomena in other parts of India but in Tripura, this is not something that happens every year. Call it the change in political set up or the influence of Bollywood, the same is gradually picking up pace in the BJP ruled state.
Rakhis with Doremon, Pokemon and Chhota Bheem also sold at Rs. 10 per piece.
Seems Bahubali kept up its record even in Tripura!
