The dream project of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb which is to sell the Queen Size Pineapple of Tripura at the national and international level seems to be in a strange situation as the farmers of Tripura are seemingly not showing interest in pineapple production despite several efforts by the state government.
“Since, yesterday also we tried our best to inspire the farmers from all over the state to pursue pineapple production via open gathering but they are worried following their past year experiences. We are not being able to make them understand the value of Queen Size Pineapple”, said the Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy while addressing the media.
The Minister further added that ” the production of pineapples will be controlled and contracts will also be given to societies for setting up pineapple gardens across the state. We will also set up a proper marketing strategy for the queen size pineapples. We are also in talks with a Dubai based company, but right now nothing is concrete”.
