Congress Party has called for Bharat Bandh against the rising fuel prices and claimed a nationwide shutdown on September 10 between 9am-3pm.
In a press meet which was held on Friday at Congress Bhawan, Tripura Pradesh Congress Chief Birajit Sinha said that the Congress party in Tripura will observe the Bharat Bandh on a full-fledged manner.

Tripura Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposing the Bandh had termed it a desperation move by the Congress party.
State BJP Vice President, Subal Bhowmik said ‘This bandh is absolutely baseless and unethical. This shows the desperation of the Congress party in Tripura. People have rejected them and in Tripura on 10th September everything will be normal. There will be no impact of the so-called Bandh and this Bandh will not be successful’.
Meanwhile, the opposition CPI(M) is yet to decide whether to support the Bandh called by Congress. CPI(M) State Secretary Bijan Dhar said, “We have not decided anything yet as we have to take every decision very cautiously at this point of time. We are going to take a final call today on this issue”
