Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today assured on the floor of the house that there will be proper investigation on the murder of veteran CPI(M) leader from Panisagar Sub-division, Tapas Sutradhar who was brutally murdered on June 18 midnight while he was returning home after attending a marriage ceremony. CPI(M) MLA Tapan Chakraborty today during the zero hour raised questions on the brutal murder and also asked for a through probe into this incident.

While replying to queries raised by opposition MLA, Tapan Chakraborty, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said ” I know about this incident. I have already instructed the DGP to look into the matter and S.P. of North Tripura has already visited the spot where the incident took place and he himself is looking into the case”.


Meanwhile speaking to TNT: The Northeast Today, CPI(M) State Secretary Bijan Dhar had yesterday condemned the incident and accused BJP for this brutal murder.

“Our activist Tapas Sutradhar was brutally murdered yesterday by RSS trained BJP gundas. This is the fourth murder of our party activist since the Assembly election results this year and in all the cases Police was unable to arrest anyone. We condemned this kind of violent attacks on our activists”

Ex-Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar along with two other CPI(M) MLA’s have gone to Panisagar today to meet the family members of the slain CPI(M) leader and to convey his condolences.
