Former Chief Information Commissioner of India (CIC) and Defense Secretary – a retired IAS officer of 1977 batch Tripura cadre Radha Krishna Mathur has been appointed as Advisor to the Chief Minister of Tripura, having the rank and privilege of a cabinet minister.

The council of ministers in a meeting yesterday decided the appointment of Mathur.

Mathur was also Chief Secretary of Tripura for three years since 2003 before he elevated as secretary in Government of India.

He was retired from the post of CIC in last month.

Mathur has served exclusively in Tripura about 23 years of his total carrier from lowest administrative post to the top one who has still been respected in the state for his service for the people.
