Tripura government has received seven National Awards conferred by the Union Rural Development for successful implementation of several rural development schemes. The awards were given by Union Minister for Rural Development, Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Ram Kripal Yadav, Secretary to the Ministry of Rural Development, Amarjeet Sinha.

Tripura has received seven National awards in different categories including National Award for its outstanding performance in Financial Inclusion under DAY-NRLM. Tripura has also secured 2nd rank in Overall Performance in implementation of PMAY-G and 3rd rank in Number of Houses Completed under PMAY-G.

Sepahijala and Dhalai district of Tripura received two more awards for their “Best Performance in Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA) during the period from 14th April to 5th May, 2018 in several schemes. The award ceremony was held at New Delhi on September 12.
