A division bench comprising of Chief Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice Arindam Lodh which had reserved its order earlier, did not find any ground in interfering with the verdict given by the lower court in which it had cancelled the SC certificate of Partha Das.
Earlier the Election Commission had ordered a probe against the then MLA after an opposition leader from Congress party accused him of submitting fake documents while contesting the assembly elections in 2008. Das had won in the Salgarah constituency which is reserved for SC -community.
The forgery came into light when doctor Chandan Das, elder brother of MLA, Partha Das was found guilty of using Fake SC certificate which led to him losing his job.
