The Indigo Airlines 6E139 and 6E833 carrying passengers from Agartala to Kolkata everyday at 7 a.m and 9 a.m. respectively has been both been temporarily halted. The reason given for such suspension of services was due to extensive fog leading to poor visibility.

The services of these flights are expected to resume agin from April, 2019.

It may be recalled that Spicejet Airlines has already withdrawn all its services from Agartala Airport for the past two months due to huge amount of revenue loss.

It is to be mentioned that Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb had urged the Central government several tims to look into this matter so that Spicejet Airlines do not stop all its operations at the Agartala airport but the airlines company withdrew all its services from September 1st this year.

This has led to flight fares from Agartala to Kolkata reaching an all time high and now this decision of Indigo Airlines will definitely affect the people of the state as communication in Tripura is very much still dependent on Airways especially the route of Agartala- Kolkata and vice-versa.
