AGARTALA | September 11, 2019:

A team of Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IFPT) held a meeting with BJP national working president Jagat Prakash Nadda in Delhi on Tuesday evening.

The team of IPFT delegation was led by the party president Narendra Chandra Debbarma. The meeting was held regarding the upcoming ADC election issue.

IPFT general secretary and Tribal Welfare minister Mewar Kumar Jamatia while addressing a press conference said that the delegates had meeting with J P Nadda.

He added that, if the party is not given the expressed their desire to contest in all the 28 seats in the ADC election in Tripura, then IPFT will definitely contest in ADC election like the polls of Lok Sabha and 3-tier Panchayat election.

He also said that the delegation had submitted a memorandum to Nadda regarding the Tipraland-a proposed the separate state of Indigenous people in Tripura.

Jamatia further informed that the IPFT leaders had held a meeting today with the delegation of North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) at Guwahati demanding to scrap the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and the implementation of NRC in Tripura.

He also claimed that if the Citizenship Amendment Bill is passed, it will affect the entire North Eastern states.
