A commission of IPFT leaders comprising of the Party’s Vice President Ananta Debbarma, Revenue Minister Narendra Chandra Debbarma, Tribal Welfare Minister Mebar Kumar Jamatia and General Secretary Mangal Debbarma are scheduled to meet the Union Minister of State for home Kiren Rijiju to press for Twipraland state.
More than three hundred IPFT workers reached Delhi by train to take part in a successful sit-in programme at Jantar Mantar area on December 15 and 16 for separate Twipraland state.
With the presence of Tribal welfare Minister Mabar Kumar Jamatia, the sit-in programme gained more impetus.
The programme was supported by the representatives of organisations fighting for separate Bundelkhand and Vidarbha states to be carved out of UP and Maharashtra respectively.
Mangal Debbarma, General Secretary of IPFT, said that the demonstration of his party workers achieved it objective and total success and the party was hopeful of a positive outcome from their deputation with the Union Minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju.
