Chief Minister  Biplab Kumar Deb, Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman, Suryamaninagar MLA, Ram Prasad Paul and high officials visited Tripura Medical College (TMC) &  Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences as well as the adjoining areas today to evaluate the possibility of taking over TMC by AIIMS.

This place, according to the government will be convenient for the people of the state and will also be cost effective and would be nearer to the people in terms of distance.

The Chief Minister on 18th July had also visited  visited Budjungnagar area of Jirania subdivision to inspect a plot spreading over 200 acres of land for establishing All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). If everything goes well, the work of the hospital is scheduled to begin from November.
