A high level committee headed by the Special Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Internal Secretary wing would be arriving here on October 9, official sources confirmed.

During the visit, the committee will meet the representatives of national and state political parties on their views of empowering and uplifting of socio-economic and linguistic issues of the indigenous people.

Tripura: High Level Committee to look into issues of indigenous people within a week

Besides, the panel will also hold talks with social organization on issues pertaining to development of tribal population in the state at the State Guest House on October 10.

Earlier, the MHA had set up a thirteen-member high level committee to look into socio-economic and linguistic development of the indigenous people of the state.

The state government had already sent Terms of Reference (ToR) for the committee as well as a roadmap to look the problems of indigenous problems.
