The India Meteorological department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain and thunder storm due to low depression at Bay of Bengal. This will affect the normal life across the Northeastern state of Tripura before the commencement of the festivities of Durga Puja, but weather forecast reports that four days of Puja would be pleasant with isolated spells of rain or thundershowers.
The regional office of MET department has issued warning with prediction of more rainfall from Wednesday and for next 72 hours, which will directly affect the Puja preparations.
An alert has also been sounded by IMD, Agartala station which has issued warning with prediction of more rainfall from Wednesday up to next four to five days with strong wind. As predicted, the massive rainfall has already hit Tripura since Wednesday morning.
India Meteorological department (IMD) said that several parts of Northeast region have been alerted for heavy rainfall due to low depression in Bay of Bengal and it will continue up to October 14 next.
MET also predicted that heavy downpour throughout state will continue from October 11 to October 13 next, but on October 14 the rail fall would be moderate as the intensity of low depression will be weaker and it will move towards Bangladesh.
