Along with the rest of the world, Tripura also celebrated ‘International Yoga Day’, an initiative which was propagated by the Prime Minister Of India, Narendra Modi during his maiden speech at United Nations General Assembly in 2014. PM Modi had suggested that 21st June be celebrated as ‘International Yoga Day’. Since then every year millions of people across the world celebrate this day every year by performing yoga.
Today morning Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also took part in ‘International Yoga Day’ by performing Yoga at the ADC Headquarters in Khumlwng along with hundreds of common people, government officials and school children. While speaking to the media, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said “This is not new in India. Indians have been performing yoga since thousands of years and now 173 countries along with India follow traditional yoga. Thousands of yoga centres have been opened in US and in China”.
BJP State In-charge of Tripura, Sunil Deodhar also took part in ‘International Yoga Day’ in Agartala by teaching Yoga to BJP activists at Albert Ekka Park.
