While the BJP’s Pratapgarh mandal committee president Sukumar Ghosh has filed an FIR in East Agartala Women’s police station accusing Nilanjana and two others of attempting to murder morcha activists, the CPM on the other hand has alleged BJP Mahila Morcha activists saying that they were the ones who led an attack on SFI president Nilanjana Ray and her family members at her residence in Jogendranagar.

It may be mentioned that the death of CPM local committee leader Pradip Debbarma has also led to CPM accusing the ‘BJP supported goons’ of killing him.

However, Additional inspector Smriti Ranjan Das said preliminary investigation suggested that Debbarma died in an accident. A case of unnatural death has been registered and the investigation is underway.
