Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Monday announced that speed limit devices would be installed soon in roads and highways to check rash driving across the state.

The CM today inaugurated Road Safety Day at Swami Vivekanda Maidan and urged people to be aware sbout road safety measures.

Addressing the mass gathering this morning, Deb said, “If people of the state know about road safety then road accidents would decrease and only then the Road Safety Day would attain success.”

He also said that the state transport department has taken a lot initiatives on Road Safety in the state.

“Transport Department of state government has taken a lot initiative on Road Safety in the state. This was supposed to be implemented earlier but it is sad to see that no one took the initiative. After the formation of BJP-IPFT government in state, several initiatives have been taken to ensure road safety but this cannot be done wothout the peoples’support”.

He also added that the state government would soon install Speed limit devices to decrease instances of rash driving. Meter auto would also soon start begin services for transparent fare. The government is also planning to start city Bus services in Agartala, Udaipur, Dharmanagar and in other major cities. No one can buy motor bikes with a licence. Registration and licence to all the E-Riksaw owners have also begun.
