Agartala, August 6, 2018: The Tripura government has announced that it will fill up 9,424 posts in various departments in accordance with a new employment policy introduced by it earlier this year.
Law minister Ratan Lal Nath told reporters here on Saturday that the council of ministers has introduced a fair new recruitment policy, which would ensure jobs to eligible candidates. All new appointments under the new rule would be made through examinations conducted by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), he added.
The Biplab Deb government imposed an embargo on all ongoing recruitment processes on March 10, the day after it assumed office, citing grounds of review.
“Restriction on recruitments has been revoked. We sent a letter to the TPSC to initiate recruitment procedure for 182 assistant professors. Over 9,000 other posts would also be filled up in different departments,” he said
Nath said the erstwhile Left Front government had withheld recruitment in over 8,000 posts though many of them were notified by the TPSC and their recruitments were also sanctioned by the finance department.
He said the recruitment process, initiated by the erstwhile government, now stands cancelled. The new process will be started shortly, he added.
“Any candidate who has exceeded the upper age limit for government service will be able to avail of a one-time relaxation of age bar,” the minister said.
