As voting in Tripura West Parliamentary constituency came to an end, a total voter turnout of so 72.32 per cent was recorded until the filing of this report.
Although the re polling in 168 polling stations of West Tripura was necessitated owing to polling malpractices in the earlier phase,
Congress party alleged that their polling agent of Debram Thakur Para booth was beaten up by BJP activists. They also said that many voters of area were threatened by BJP goons.
Whereas, BJP MLA of Khayerpur Constituency under which Debram Thakur Para booth falls said, “There is no supporter of Congress and CPI (M) in that area and I have also received no such information as I was not allowed to go to Khayerpur the entire day but I’m going there today and look into the matter. But EC has appointed officials who were pro-active and it was clear that they were against BJP”.
